The diagram is from a booklet titled ‘Guide to Drag Racing’ that was sold at the track for 25 cents in Jan. of 1960. Also shown is the Mor-Drop front axle, shock mounts, and the suicide front crossmember attached to the Model A transverse spring. At the time it was ‘cool’ to have a name painted on the side of your car; mine was ‘Wells Fargo’. Not too long after this photo was taken, I removed the cowl gas tank and welded up the gas filler, and then had the cowl punched with louvers. There was no practical reason to have louvers in the cowling, but they were trendy at the time, and I wanted louvers somewhere on the car.</image:caption></image:image><image:image><image:loc>https://tomchambliss.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/joefasoreceipt-screenshotfrombook.png</image:loc><image:title>JoeFasoReceipt-ScreenshotfromBook</image:title><image:caption>Joe's receipt of payment.</image:caption></image:image><lastmod>2026-01-08T22:12:49+00:00</lastmod><changefreq>monthly</changefreq></url><url><loc>https://tomchambliss.com/2025/11/11/introduction/</loc><lastmod>2025-11-17T03:38:03+00:00</lastmod><changefreq>monthly</changefreq></url><url><loc>https://tomchambliss.com/about/</loc><image:image><image:loc>https://tomchambliss.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/img_6049-1.jpeg</image:loc><image:title>IMG_6049</image:title></image:image><image:image><image:loc>https://tomchambliss.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/dad-blog.jpeg</image:loc><image:title>Dad Blog</image:title></image:image><image:image><image:loc>https://tomchambliss.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/img_0100.jpeg</image:loc><image:title>IMG_0100</image:title><image:caption>This was taken at National’s first picnic.
